World Championships this week!

The World Championships (formerly known as European Championships) for dance games are held this week in Zwanenburg, the Netherlands. 81 male and 20 female contestants match up against each other in three disciplines and the winners are determined by combined score in single bar, single no-bar and double bar disciplines. On the first day of the event there is also a fun "ironman" tournament with whacky rules testing various elements of player skill.
This year we are running the event with an automated tournament software which also allows us to keep all scores, points, tournament brackets and other information publicly available through the internet during the tournament. All information is updated to the web in real time and anyone can view it at http://www.tanssipelit.fi/ec/. Thanks to Jari "vehnae" Saukkonen from the Finnish Dance Gamer Association for this awesome piece of software!
All organizers wish the contestants good luck and exiting times for others following the tournament through the web site!

Positive Gaming, Arrowdance and the Finnish Dance Gamer Association have released an official announcement a few minutes ago. The announcement includes details on the event and the attached information document includes all the details necessary for players to know before pre-registering for the event. Announcement: The Positive Gaming Machine Dance European and World Championships 2009
We are excited to officially announce the details of the much anticipated Positive Gaming Machine Dance European and World Championships 2009 event!
This year's tournament will mark our biggest machine dance event ever and will be exciting for participants and spectators alike!
Positive Gaming is proud to be the main organizing entity and pleased to partner with Arrowdance and the Finnish Dance Gamer Association.
People can expect several new aspects for this year's event; items such as a brand new and exciting tournament system, called "King of the Hill" and a recently updated event facility that is four times bigger than what was used in 2008.
In addition to the multiple "In The Groove 2" arcade machines that will be used for tournament play, a 16-player Positive Gaming iDANCE Multiplayer system will be featured and will be available for use by players and spectators.
On Saturday evening, everyone will be able to enjoy a party in the castle room (the location of the 2008 event). The party will include concerts from Oscillator X and G-Powered as well as speeches featuring updates from members of Positive Gaming.

New logo

We have now selected a new logo for the DanceGaming.eu website from those submitted to us from our users. The new logo was created by user AriKettu, so all thanks go to him.
We received no layout submissions or suggestions apart from requests to change the background color, so the layout will remain as is. Any requests for a particular background color or any other detail are still welcome.
